After months of waiting, Madonna just teased new remixes of her latest single I Don't Search I Find to come next Friday, May 1st. First three mixes by Honey Dijon have been released in December, while Other mixes including Offer Nissim Remix • DJLW Remix • Chris Cox Club • Kue's Studio 54 Mix • Endor Remix • Ryan Skyy Remix • Craig Cs Found Vocal and others have remained promo-only. In February, the single became Madonna's 50th number 1 in American dance chart.
Unbelievable 30 years have passed since the time Madonna changed music concerts forever. Her "extremely blond and incredibly ambitious" tour had everything you ever wanted. "Let's break all the rules we can," said Madonna and created this show through both - Christianity and sexuality. Blond Ambition was more of a theatrical play rather than a traditional rock show. It changed the music and touring business forever. Although Madonna continued with this theatrical formula for the rest of her career, her tour could hardly be such revolutionary like the Blond Ambition Tour. Madonna performed the most important hits from her early career on it - Holiday, Like A Virgin, Live To Tell, Papa Don't Preach, Like A Prayer, Express Yourself and of course, the latest dance smash Vogue. All of these hits, provocative choreographers, semi-naked dancers, fabulous costumes provided by the icon himself Jean-Paul Gaultier - the Blond Ambition tour became the most perfect music show of the queen of pop. It's still a legendary piece of art at the top of the list for many fans.
Although we don't have a proper DVD or blu-ray release yet, there are plenty of various shows available through the internet. The show from Nice was broadcast by HBO and released on laserdisc. Another show in Yokohama was released even on VHS in Japan. Some performances can be found in the Truth Or dare documentary. And the New Jersey show professionally filmed as well leaked onto the internet just few days ago.
Orlando Puerta, a dance music promotions and marketing veteran known for his work with legends including Cher and Madonna, died from an upper respiratory infection at the age of 55. It is currently unknown whether the infection was caused by COVID-19, but a test is forthcoming.
As news of Orlando Puerta's death ripples through the music industry, those who knew the longtime dance music marketing and promotions executive are mourning his loss. "I am forever indebted to Orlando and he will be sorely missed," Madonna tells Billboard www.billboard.com. "His passion and commitment to dance and club music had no limits and he was a very big reason I had 50 number ones on the dance charts. Thank you Orlando. RIP."
Puerta began working with Madonna when he joined the marketing team at Warner Brothers Records in 2001. He did marketing and promotions for Madonna albums including Music, Confessions On A Dance Floor, Hard Candy, Rebel Heart and her most recent LP Madame X, delivering songs and remixes to the top of worldwide charts. In 2009, Puerta left Warner Brothers to start his own promotions company, Citrusonic, although he continued working with Madonna and her team until his death.
"Orlando was part of our Madonna family," says Madonna's longtime manager Guy Oseary. "No one loved dance music more or worked harder or more joyously to promote it. I spoke with him in February when Madonna reached her 50th #1 on the dance charts. He was so proud of Madonna. He was a force of nature who will be missed."
A dance music advocate since the early '90s, he worked with artists including Madonna, Bette Midler, Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Depeche Mode, New Order, Orgy, Static X, Michael Buble and Seal. His work on Cher's "Believe," helped make the song a global smash and Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit in 1999.
According to www.independent.co.uk, Madonna has donated $1m to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in order to help create a vaccine for coronavirus. Earlier this week, the Microsoft co-founder announced his plans to fund seven different research labs to find a cure for the disease.
In a video on Instagram, Madonna told fans: “Individually and globally we are obviously living in a state of emergency, I must admit it took me time to accept and process and modify my own lifestyle. ... I’m joining the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation effort to find a drug that will prevent or treat Covid-19. ... We need this to protect our health workers, the most vulnerable, and all of our friends and families.”
Gates recently told The Daily Show host Trever Noah: “Because our foundation has such deep expertise in infectious diseases, we’ve thought about the epidemic, we did fund some things to be more prepared, like a vaccine effort. Our early money can accelerate things.”
Madonna recently led tributes to the actor Mark Blum, who died from coronavirus complications. “I want to acknowledge the passing of a remarkable human, fellow actor and friend Mark Blum, who succumbed to coronavirus,” she posted on Instagram. “This is really tragic and my heart goes out to him, his family and his loved ones. I remember him as funny warm, loving and professional when we made Desperately Seeking Susan in 1985!! ... Another reminder that this virus is no joke, nothing to be casual about or pretend won't affect us in some way…. Ve need to stay grateful – be hopeful – and follow the quarantine rules!”
From www.thesun.co.uk: There was a four-year gap between her last two albums but Madonna's fans may not have to wait as long for new music next time. We can reveal she has collaborated on a track with her boyfriend, backing dancer Ahlamalik Williams, who is an aspiring rapper.
The hip-hop song sees the Queen of Pop sing in French, borrowing lyrics from Edith Piaf’s La Vie En Rose — a song she has covered several times before. In the chorus she repeats: "Je voie la vie en rose", which translates as “I see life through rose-tinted glasses." And I can see why that would be relevant, after the few months they have had together. Ahlamalik was Madonna’s rock during her Madame X Tour, during which she suffered crippling hip and knee injuries which she is still recovering from.
Some shows were also cancelled due to production problems and the outbreak of the coronavirus. Ahlamalik, who had danced with her in the show, played a snippet of the track during an Instagram Live broadcast on Thursday evening, although Madonna was not there when he teased fans with the clip. It is her first music since the release of her 14th studio album, Madame X, last June.
The couple went public with their romance in December but were believed to have been dating in secret for the previous 12 months. Their 36-year age gap may have shocked some but if Madonna, 61, and her fella are happy, they should go for it.
