Dark Ballet is the fifth song released off the Madame X album. The song was written and produced by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzai. Additional information can be found on its dedicated page behind this link.
Madonna gave an exclusive interview to the French LGBT magazine Têtu, which is hitting news-stands just today. She talked about her new songs and shared some interesting details.
"Killers Who Are Partying is the first song we have worked on. It's a political piece, but everything Mirwais and I do together always ends up being political. Because it's also his way of thinking. The guitar we hear in intro is a sample that I captured myself during a fado session. The sound of this guitar is exactly what I wanted. I really felt inspired by the melancholy and the feeling of this music, by the sound of Cesaria Evora, Morna and Cape Verde. The authenticity of the music that I hear everywhere in Portugal has touched me. I wanted to appropriate this music and make it sound more modern. I asked Mirwais, 'What do you think you can do with it, does it inspire you?' Obviously, it pleased him a lot," reveals the songstress of I Rise.
"On Killers Who Are Partying you sing 'I'll be Israel if Israel is imprisoned, I'll be Islam if Islam is attacked'. How should we understand this? That you want to be aligned with minorities?"
"What Mirwais and I wanted to say with song is that we don't see the world as fragmented, but as united. And I'm a part of that world. I'm an aspect of the Universe's soul. I don't define myself by categories and la?bels. But society loves labels and to separate people. Poor people, gay people, Africans. Because it makes us feel safe. What I'm saying in this song is that I'll be each of the boxes you try to put me in. I'll put myself on the front-line. I'll take the hits, because I'm a citizen of the world and my soul is connected to everyone else's. Also I'm responsible for everyone and I must take care of them. If someone else suffers, then I suffer. To me a song is an act and a declaration of solidarity."
Less than four weeks are remaining until the new Madame X album is released and there are some few tidbits regarding Madonna's new music appearing on internet today. Lucy O'Brien, a famous author and journalist, shared some new info on her Twitter:
"Just listened to the whole of #MadameX (with cakes). Can safely say the best is yet to come. Some fantastic dark dramatic work with Mirwais. There's a beautiful, weird piano-led track, and a disco banger... hard to describe... strange world pop?" • • • Question: "Is there stuff of a similar vibe to songs like Paradise (Not For Me)?" • "Yes, though updated to now... imagine a conversation between Madonna and Mirwais now." • • • Question: "I was disappointed by the Drake-style 808 beats of Crave (though it's a lovely song) so am hoping for something a bit more forward thinking on the album." • "I personally think she's better in one to one collaboration with a trusted producer (eg Orbit, Mirwais, Pat Leonard)" • • • Question: "What are the highlights Lucy?" • "Dark Ballet, I Don't Search I Find: • • • Question: Any upbeat dance/pop tracks?" • "Yes, one disco track that takes us right back to that Detroit dance floor. She's clever... saved the really personal stuff for the album release..."

With these recent videos from her Instagram, Madonna is letting us know, the final mixing of her upcoming album has been done.
Madonna is teasing her new album once again. Although the queen of pop herself announced, her upcoming album will be released next year, she's making us know the tracks recorded with disco god Mirwais are still a thing: "I'm listening ♫ ♥ #music #Mirwais #magic"
The picture posted was taken during the last weekend in Paris.
Madonna and the master of minimalistic electronica Mirwais Ahmadzaï have just finished their third recording session. They both shared the same picture on Instagram. Madonna's caption was: "Session #3 finished with Disco God Mirwais #music #method #magic #mothership @mirwais.official" And Mirwais' one was even more interesting: "Some still sings 'My Way'. But the hyper talented @madonna has a method. A new method. #madonna #marlonbrando" It may be a reference to a Stanislavski's acting method, which is a range of training and rehearsal techniques, that seek to encourage sincere and emotionally expressive performances. It mobilizes the actor's conscious thought and will in order to activate other, less-controllable psychological processes.
Mirwais Ahmadzaï is one of the most important personalities in Madonna's career. He was the main producer of the Music (2000) and American Life (2003) albums. He stands behind hits like Music or Die Another Day and fans' favorite classics like Don't Tell Me or Nothing Fails. He also collaborated on Future Lovers, Let It Will Be and Superpop in the Confessions On A Dance Floor era. Besides William Orbit, he's another producer and musician Madonna decided to return to after more than 10 years.
The other three pictures were taken and shared by Lauren D'Elia, who left Lisbon today.
Madonna is now recording songs for her upcoming album in Lisbon, Portugal, making it the first-time ever recording session outside an English speaking country. We can only speculate it might be because the queen of pop is collaborating with some local artists. Her vocal producer Lauren D'Elia arrived on Sunday and Mirwais' name appeared in today's post on Madonna's Instagram: "Cooking up something yummy today... ♥ #music #magic #mirwais #nohats"
