In 2006 Madonna's live albums became classics of her discography. While the first three I'm Going To Tell You A Secret (2006), Confessions Tour (2007) and Sticky & Sweet Tour (2010) offered just a selection of few songs, the later released 2CD MDNA World Tour (2013) contained all the songs performed during the extensive world tour. And it's the same with the Rebel Heart Tour, which this page is dedicated to. The 1 hour and 59 minutes long concert film is available on DVD + CD and Blu-ray + CD formats including a single CD with 14 tracks, while the separately sold double CD album is including 22 songs of the almost complete show. "Almost" means that Who's That Girl and Love Don't Here Anymore were cut without any explanation. Take A Bow was released exclusively only in Japan. Other video bonuses include the Like A Prayer performance and 15 minutes of the Tears of a Clown show.
September 9, 2015 Madonna premiered her yet biggest and longest-lasting tour Rebel Heart at the Bell Centre in Monréal.
March 10, 2016 The Forum Theatre in Melbourne witnessed a premiere of an intimate club show Tears of a Clown.
March 15, 2016 Madonna's official website announced, that the forthcoming shows at the Sydney Olympic Park NSW on March 19th and 20th would be filmed. The video was going to be part of a larger project to be released at a later date.
March 19, 2016 The Saturday show in Allphones Arena was the first one of the two shows to be filmed for an upcoming DVD and blu-ray. That night Take A Bow (1994) and Like A Prayer (1989) were the bonus songs Madonna decided to sing.

July 13, 2016 The York Studios previewed few seconds of Candy Shop from the new DVD on their website www.yorkstudios.tv. Few hours later it became password protected.
August 3, 2016 Other production company Gearhouse Broadcast explains, why they were selected by the York Studios to provide live music and OB production facilities for Madonna's Rebel Heart tour concert at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena. Stuart Gosling at York Studios in Melbourne contacted them after he saw what they produced for Taylor Swift and wanted the same high level of production.
September 9, 2016 Just a year after a premiere in Montréal, Madonna spoke about the forthcoming DVD on her Instagram. She watched a rough assembly, which should be finished in 2 months.
September 23, 2016 Madonna posted a short video from the beginning of the tour movie with a title saying: "Semtex / Showtime present".
September 26, 2016 A Brazilian website www.eventick.com.brbegan offering tickets for a premiere of the Rebel Heart Tour in a cinema on November 23. A day after the page disappeared.
October 5, 2016 "This is the preliminary screening of the preliminary screening of the tour for Showtime," was Madonna's comment to a plenty of videos posted on her Instagram to inform us about a home premiere of the finished film.
October 20, 2016 In a new video introducing the MDNA Skin cosmetic line to the Chinese fans, Madonna points out the DVD editing as one of the priorities for 2017.
October 21, 2016 Madonna and the American TV network Showtime announced a premiere of the Rebel Heart Tour film on Friday December 9.
