Po megahitu Vogue je singl Rescue Me druhou spoluprácí se Shepem Pettibonem, coby koproducentem originální Madonniny písničky. Skladba se objevila jako druhá novinka na albu The Immaculate Collection a byla, ačkoliv bez videoklipu, vydána jako druhý novinkový singl z této desky. Ve většině zemí i vedla poměrně dobře a vyšvihla se do vrchní desítky hitparád. Nejlépe se singl umístil ve Velké Británii, kde dosáhl až na 3.místo.

Remixy - všechny rovněž z dílny Shepa Pettibonea - jsou si velmi podobné a většina je jich běžně dostupná na široké paletě komerčních formátů. Poslední tři duby pak jen na americkém promo-only 12" double-packu. Limitovaná edice 12" singlu s plakátem obsahuje z kapacitních důvodů jen zkrácenou verzi Houseboat Vocalu označenou jako Houseboat Mix. Ještě kratší verzí tohoto remixu je tzv. Alternate Single Mix dostupný na japonském 3" CD nebo 5" promo CD z U.S.A. Klasický 7" Mix, který najdeme na mnoha 7" singlech nebo 5" a 12" maxi-singlech, je jen editem verze albové.

Na obal desek byl použit záběr z videoklipu Justify My Love (1990), jen ve Velké Británii byl obal jiný, protože zmíněná fotka se objevila už na reedici balady Crazy For You (1991). Tamní 12" vinyl nabízí fanouškům i úžasný sexy plakát.
