Určitě ne každý ví, pro kterou že to Jessie byla tato písnička nazpívána. Potom vězte, že se jedná o tehdy tříletou dceru Patricka Leonarda, Madonnina dlouholetého spolupracovníka. Ten složil tuto hravou a veselou melodii a nabídl ji Madonně, ve které hned evokovala představy o růžových slonech. Tak přišla na svět písnička Dear Jessie.
Ani k této skladbě ale nevznikly žádné remixy, stejně jako k několika dalším z alba Like A Prayer, proto jsou vinyly, kazety a CD doplněny o albové verze Till Death Do Us Part a Holiday. V Británii podpořil prodej singlu krásný 7" picture disc nebo 12" limitovaná edice v plakátovém balení. V U.S.A. a Japonsku singl vydán nebyl; jako protipól k ideálnímu dětství zde byla na singlu vydána skladba Oh Father.
